Space Frehley is a modern-day, non-makeup tribute to Ace Frehley. A live, 4-piece band, Space Frehley captures the best of Ace Frehley’s entire career including his KISS classics, Frehley’s Comet songs, and Ace solo material. 

Aaron Greer - who portrays Ace as “Space Frehley” - discovered KISS at the age of 5 - and has been a life-long Kiss/Ace fan who started playing guitar at the age of 11 - directly in response to Ace’s guitar solo on KISS Alive II and listening to the 1980's non-makeup era of the band. After years of playing along to KISS albums and trying to learn every Ace Frehley solo, Aaron joined a full makeup and costume KISS tribute band in May 1995, when he was only 17 years old. “Deuce” would continue doing shows all around the Pittsburgh area for the next 2 and a half years - even playing 2 songs with former KISS guitarist, Bruce Kulick, at the unofficial KISS convention in Pittsburgh, PA, in July of 1998.

Though he would persue original music starting in 1999, Aaron’s love for KISS and Ace never waived, attending many concerts and conventions since the late 90's. In early 2024, he had the idea to form an Ace Frehley tribute. Not wanting to wear makeup or a costume at this point of his life, he decided to do a “modern-day” tribute to Ace.. and call it Space Frehley. 

"My vision for Space Frehley was to not only play Ace’s guitar parts accurately and precise... but I wanted to become the ‘character’ of Ace - the look, the dialect, the attitude, the stumble walk, the laugh... all of it.” Ace wasn't just the spaceman in Makeup... he was REAL-LIFE spaceman on Earth.”  

Joining Space Frehley to round out the band are Billy Greer (Space’s older brother) on rhythm guitar and vocals, David Douglas on bass, and Mark Wesesky on drums—seasoned veterans of the Pittsburgh and tri-state music scene, each with nearly 40 years of professional experience. And yeah… they’re massive KISS and Ace fans, too. The band formed in mid 2024, and started performing live in February of 2025.

Sadly, Ace Frehley passed away on October 16, 2025. This has only reinformed Aaron’s passion to continue performing Ace’s music. He attended KISS Kruse Vegas in November 2025 and took photos with fans and walked around the venue as Space Frehley. Shorty after this, his presence on social media started to take off and gain attention nationally and internationally - and has since gained support from Ace’s team and several of those in his inner circle.
